Start a war on your iPhone

I'm a bit of a pacifist at heart so I don't normally go in for war games. I'll make an exception for iShoot through, because this is one of the more 'peaceful' battle games you'll see.

iShoot sees you assume control of a tank in a straight shoot-out with other tanks. The difference between this and most other war games is that you can't physically move your tank. Instead you must stay in one place and fire strategically at your enemies - and they need to do the same.

It all makes for a fun and engaging game in the style of the legendary Worms. You can have up to four players against each other, choosing how many of them you want to be human-controlled and how many to be computerized. The range of weapons at your disposal in iShoot is pretty good. There are 6 different types in this light version of the app, though the full version gives you 25.

Graphically speaking, iShoot looks quite pretty in an understated way. The tanks are small and not very detailed but the backgrounds are pretty stunning. The sound effects are good too.

iShoot brings a new kind of war-gaming experience to the iPhone and is one that will have you addicted for quite some time.
