Helicon Focus is a program that creates one completely focused image from several partially focused images by combining the focused areas.

The sum effect of this is stunning focus effects that would be far more complicated to reproduce using something like photoshop. More than this however, Helicon Focus can also align images by varying the degrees slightly giving them special effects that make you look like a photo pro.

Helicon Focus can process batches of images and achieves such impressive results because it does not impose any limitations on image resolutions. The downside of this is that you'll need at least 512M of spare RAM to work with images in excess of 8 megapixels as it does tend to hog your resources. Helicon Focus can read most major formats and even adjusts the brightness and contrast for maximum effect.

Helicon Focus takes some time to achieve it's best results but it's well worth spending some time getting to know it.
